    Persuasive Research Project Status:

    ·         Country and topic selections have been made.  Do not make any changes at this point.

    ·         Notes should be completed on three different articles.  Remember, you are required to have three sources.  Make certain you write the title and source for each article.  Citations typed in a Word document (“Works Cited”) are due this Friday, March 6.  You will include these in your PowerPoint.

    ·         Facts from the Almanac notes should be finished.  CultureGrams is a good resource for this.  This is due Friday, March 6.

    ·         Persuasive Organizer (last page in your research packet) should be complete (Download Persuasive research organizer).  This will help you organize your thoughts for your PowerPoint and essay.  Although this should be finished already, I will be checking it for a grade on Monday, March 9.

    ·         PowerPoint should be in beginning stages.  Use the checklist provided in class that outlines information to be included on each slide.  A due date for your PowerPoint will be forthcoming as I observe your progress.

The graded items I have mentioned above are wonderful opportunities for you to enhance your grades in Language Arts.  As I have mentioned in class, it is critical that you keep up with these assignments as we proceed.  It will be difficult to catch up if you get too far behind.  If you are not able to complete all the required pieces in class, make arrangements to work on some of the assignment at home, at the public library, or in our school’s computer lab.
