Vocabulary Test on Wednesday for First period!
Test over VIetnam on Thursday for 2nd and 6th period.
1st period reading will be doing a novel unit on books of their own choosing. These books should be 150 pages in length or longer, and should NOT have been made into a movie. Students should be keeping a log while they read, and we will be discussing options for final projects. We will also be working on a vocabulary unit from book C.
3rd and 7th period reading just started a book by Will Hobbs entitled Bearstone. We will be reading 1-2 chapters a day and completing written responses based on the reading. We will also have a final project based on this book. Students will receive a list of potential projects next week.
Social Studies students will continue to study South-East Asia, and will focus on China this week. We will be working in the textbook this week.
On Thursday we will be sending home progress reports. Due to the testing schedule, you will receive grades from first, third, fourth, and sixth periods on Thursday and the rest of the grades on Friday. Please feel free to contact me via email if you have any problems or questions.
Please remember that a good nights sleep is important for this week! Also, lunch is later than usual. Please encourage students to eat breakfast and go to bed early!
This week we will be taking the CRCT test! The reading test is Tuesday, and I'm hoping everyone will come well-rested and ready Tuesday morning. Please be sure to be on time! If you are late you will not be admitted to the classroom. Bring a book- just in case you finish early! My preference would be for you to use extra time to review your answers!
Reading students will be working on CRCT warm-ups the first half of each class period. We continue to look for patterns in testing, and to work on reviewing skills in isolation. Students should be reading 5 nights a week for 30 minutes.
Many of the projects turned in on Friday DO NOT include names! Please see me by Wednesday to confirm that you receive credit for your hard work!
It's hard to believe that we have 2 short weeks left before Spring Break!!!!
