Today we reviewed area and volume (concepts learned back in 6th and 7th grade).  The attached powerpoint has what we reviewed Friday along with what was reviewed today.

Students then received a two day assignment entitled The Three Little Pig Builders Task

Student will be given class time tomorrow to work as well.  It will be due on Tuesday, May 19th at the end of the class.

After going over the workbook Lessons 8-1, 8-2, and 8-3, we then reviewed surface area of pyramids and cones (a concept learned back in 6th grade).  We took notes from the powerpoint and did some examples.  Students will need these notes for a performance task they will be completeing on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

3rd/4th/5th/6th/7th periods:  Complete Mathematics 3 workbook (green) Lesson 8-8.  You can download this from the textbook website

HINT, HINT:  Make sure workbook Lesson 8-1 problem #6 is complete!!  This may be your "Exit Pass from the Class" on Monday and taken as a  QUIZ  GRADE!!!  I have been hinting at this for the past two days!!

After taking the test on Simplifying and Solving Equations, students worked in their Mathematics 3 workbook (green).  If you have lost your workbook, you can download the workbook page off the Holt Online textbook website.  The workbook page is called "Practice B".

3rd period:  In you workbook, make sure Lesson 8-1 problem #6 is finished; also, complete Lessons 8-2 and 8-3

5th/6th periods:   In you workbook, make sure Lesson 8-1 problem #6 is finished; also, complete Lessons 8-3

4th/7th periods:  In your Mathematics 3 workbook, complete Lessons 8-1, 8-2, and 8-3.
