Wow, can you believe this is our last blog for the year 2008? I know I can't! As the holidays appproach I would like to say thank you to all of the support you give to the children. M y first semester here at Pine Mountain has been terrific thanks to you and your wonderful children. I hope that you all have a fantastic holiday season and that all your holiday wishes come true!

All Students: Remember Friday, December 19th is our Winter Holiday Celebration! Don't forget to bring your assigned goodies by Thursday, December 18th.
Study Skills: During next week's study skills class, we will continue working with the Tale of Despereaux and finish some of our incomplete journal entries. Homework- Foreshadowing assignment from The Tale of Despereaux readings.
**Remember, although the movie,"The Tale of Despereaux" comes out at the theatres next week, please do not go to see it until after the holidays when we are finished with the book.I know you are in great anticipation, but be patient...we're getting there. ** (graphic - www.leoncounty.fla.gov.)
Reading: During next week's reading class we will continue reading our chapter book, Matilda and our guided reading book, Bats by Ron Cole. I will introduce a new Reading Test Prep. warm-up drill. This week's drill will focus on differentiating between fact and opinion. Homework- Reading logs, and questions from the stories, Snack Time! and Winter is Coming
Language Arts: Next week we will work with helping/linking verbs and compound predicates.
Social Studies: We'll be working with Georgia geography.
