Welcome to Ms. Rouse's 7th and 8th grade blog. I'm sure you are as excited as I am to get the year off to a sensational start! I have lots of wonderful learning adventures planned for this year! 3rd Period Reading: We are working on the story, Borreguita and the Coyote. We will have one reading fluency check Tuesday, vocabulary test Thursday and comprehension test Friday.
Homework: Study vocabulary every night. Read every night and complete the "Response to Literature Logs" with parents. Both the student and parent log must be turned in Friday.
4th period Study Skills: Homework: You live in the Piedmont region of Georgia. There are four other regions. Write a persuasive piece convincing your parents to move to one of the other four regions of Georgia. Write 6 examples of physical changes and 6 examples of chemical changes. Remember to include your reasons why you picked your responses.
5th period Literature Connections: We are working on the beginning story to the infamous books that chronicle the life of the quirky Ms. Bedelia. We will have a reading fluency check Wednesday, a vocabulary test Thursday and a comprehension check Friday. Homework: Community-Home Based Journals are due Friday along with Response to Literature Journals (parent and student sheets).
7th period Mathematics: We are working with the world of patterns, regrouping with addition and personal finance (checking). Homework: Complete the problem packet passed out by Ms. Rouse.
